By Rubén Morales Iglesias: San Jose Pumas FC secured their place in the Orange Walk Football Association (OWFA) Opening Season Tournament Final after edging Louisiana FC 2–1 in Semifinals – Leg Two, played on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the Louisiana Football Field in Orange Walk. The victory completed a 5–2 aggregate triumph for the Pumas.
San Jose Pumas entered the second leg with a strong advantage after winning 3–1 in the first match, but Louisiana FC struck first in the return leg. Andre Ramirez fired the home side ahead in the 29th minute, giving Louisiana early hope.
Pumas responded almost immediately. Rigoberto Cardenas equalized in the 31st minute, restoring calm and momentum. The match remained tight until the 89th minute, when Leonardo Canul delivered the decisive goal to secure the 2–1 win.
With the result, San Jose Pumas advance to the OWFA Opening Season Tournament Final, scheduled for Sunday, January 25, 2025, at the Louisiana Football Field — a rematch of the previous tournament’s final against Yo Creek United.
