By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Reigning champions Yo Creek United stormed into the semifinals of the Orange Walk Football Association 2024-2025 1st Division Closing Championship with an emphatic 8-0 victory over Sandy Field Wolverines in their quarterfinal second leg at Louisiana Football Field on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
Holding a narrow 2-1 advantage from the first leg, Yo Creek United wasted no time taking control of the rematch. Liam Reyes opened the scoring in the 12th minute and added two more in the 30th and 46th minutes. Axel Alamilla contributed a hat-trick with goals in the 14th, 21st, and 45+1 minutes, while Leonardo Canul and Jaeden Dominguez rounded off the scoring in the 58th and 80th minutes, respectively.
The Wolverines had no response to Yo Creek United’s relentless attack, suffering an overwhelming defeat as the victors advanced with a 10-1 aggregate.
Yo Creek United now turn their focus to the semifinals, where they will face Mi Gente on May 4 at 3:00 p.m.
