By Zoila Palma: Today, Area Representative for Orange Walk East Kevin Bernard extended congratulations to the newly elected Village Councils across Orange Walk East — those who secured victory at the polls and those who were returned uncontested.
“I especially salute the proud villages of San Jose Nuevo Palmar, Carmelita, and Chan Pine Ridge, where the People’s United Party (PUP) once again demonstrated its strength, unity, and connection to the people. The full PUP slates were elected — a clear message of confidence in our leadership, in our government, and in our shared vision for progress,” Bernard said.
Bernard also commended PUP candidates in Towerhill and Santa Martha who ran with passion and conviction.
“In Santa Martha, we take note that while the elected Council may call itself an independent PUP Council, the core values and spirit of service remain alive and well. I commit to working with all of you to continue delivering for the people,” Bernard added.
Bernard also pledged to work with every duly elected Council in Orange Walk East.
“Through our political committees and constituency office, we will support the needs and aspirations of every village, every council — regardless of electoral outcome. Our mission is to build a unified front for the benefit of all our communities,” Bernard expressed.
In addition, Bernard called out the UDP for trying to “claim credit or to twist these results to suit their failed narrative. The UDP did not even have the courage or the organization to contest these elections in our villages. To now suggest that these victories are somehow a rejection of our leadership is the height of political desperation.”
“While the UDP sits on the sidelines making noise, we are delivering results. We are building roads, improving healthcare, strengthening education, and creating opportunities for our people. The real work continues — with your support and trust,” Bernard further added.
