By Zoila Palma: Albert Ramdin, Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), arrived in Belize today at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade to participate in the Ministry’s annual Diplomatic Week.
During his visit, Secretary General Ramdin will deliver the Ministry’s Lecture Series on the theme “Mobilising Financing for Security: How the OAS Can Support Investment in Hemispheric Security.”
The lecture is scheduled for the evening of September 19, 2025, and will be livestreamed on the Ministry’s social media platforms.
Earlier that same day, he will address a public and private sector dialogue aimed at fostering discussions between Belizean stakeholders and external partners to identify trade and investment opportunities.
He is also expected to host a press conference to brief the media on his engagements.
While in Belize, the OAS Secretary General will hold bilateral meetings with Prime Minister John Briceño and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Culture and Immigration Francis Fonseca.
He will also visit the OAS Office in the Adjacency Zone before concluding his official trip on September 20, 2025.
