The Northern region continued its stranglehold on the National Secondary Schools Sports Association girls’ basketball championship, as Bishop Martin High School captured the 2025 crown with a 48–20 victory over Georgetown Technical High School Egrets at the Orange Walk Multipurpose Complex.

This marks the fourth consecutive year the North has produced the national champions:
- 2022 – King’s College, led by MVP Aldaeshuny Dixon
- 2023 – King’s College again, with Aysha Acosta (San Pedro High) named MVP while reinforcing King’s
- 2024 – San Pedro High School, powered by MVP Jahzara Pascual, who reinforced San Pedro that year
- 2025 – Bishop Martin High School, with Pascual repeating as MVP while playing for her own school

Bishop Martin were particularly strong this season, with two previous MVPs in their ranks — Acosta (2023) and Pascual (2024, now 2025). Acosta, a San Pedro High student, reinforced Bishop Martin this year, while Pascual had reinforced San Pedro last year. In effect, this was payback time: San Pedro had benefited from Pascual’s reinforcement in 2024, and now Bishop Martin gained from San Pedro’s help through Acosta.
The NSSSA rules allow regional champions to recruit up to three players from other schools in their zones for the national tournament, a policy that has shaped the balance of power and helped sustain the Northern dynasty.
