By Aaron Humes: The City was red hot on Thursday night and early Friday morning, with three shooting incidents in separate parts of the Old Capital preceding the murder of Jose Matus.

Police today indicated no suspects had yet been found in each of the three incidents, two of which were on Southside and one on Northside.

It started on Iguana Street, directly behind the Racoon Street Police Station, where 18-year-old Shemar Smith was shot. Hours later, Joseph Leslie was found shot on Antelope Street Extension near Laura Dunn Street with injuries. Then early on Friday morning, police responded to a report of a shooting incident on Baymen Avenue where they found Shane Nolberto with a gunshot injury after a vehicle pulled up beside him while he was driving and a man from that vehicle fired shots toward his direction.

Leslie and Nolberto remain hospitalized and police continue to investigate all three incidents, which are not said to be related in any way.
