By Breaking Belize News Staff: Seven months after the murder of street figure Kenneth “Big Tom” Flowers, accused murderer Sydney Peyreffitte is still awaiting disclosure in the case against him.
Peyreffitte, a tour guide who has been on remand since October 2025, appeared once again in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Monday in connection with the fatal shooting of Flowers, which occurred on Sittee Street, Belize City on October 6, 2025.
Appearing unrepresented before Senior Magistrate Mannon Dennison in Court #6, Peyreffitte was informed that the case file had recently been returned to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for further work to be done.
The Prosecutor told the court that the matter had initially been scheduled for disclosure, but the file was sent back to the DPP’s office on April 28, 2026. He indicated that prosecutors are expecting guidance within the next month on how the matter will proceed.
Despite the disclosure period being outside the usual timeframe, the court granted one more adjournment and set the matter for June 1, 2026, when disclosure is expected to be addressed.
Peyreffitte was first arraigned for murder on October 8, 2025. Since then, he has made several court appearances as the matter continues to be adjourned pending disclosure.
