The National Institute of Culture and History (NICH) has announced the winners of the 2025 Belize Culture Fund (BCF). The micro grants were awarded to nine individuals and organizations whose projects aim to safeguard and promote Belize’s rich cultural heritage.
The BCF, administered under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Culture and Immigration, is designed to support initiatives that preserve both tangible and intangible cultural expressions, encourage educational campaigns, and stimulate the creative industry. This year, the program received a total of 80 applications. After a competitive selection process, nine were chosen to receive funding across five thematic categories:
Safeguarding Belize’s Living Heritage ($5,000): Stanley Peck
Children and Youth Arts Education ($5,000): Damian Moore
Cultural Conservation Initiatives ($5,000): Hugo Carrillo
Making Museums Vibrant ($5,000): Guillermo Paz
Dynamic Micro Grant ($2,000):
Elington Cayetano
Kenrick Gonzales
Juan Caal
Claver College Extension Expressive Arts Class
Andre Habet & Lee McLoughlin
The Belize Culture Fund continues to play a vital role in empowering local creatives and cultural practitioners across the country. NICH encourages those who were not selected in this round to reapply in the next funding cycle.
