New Road Puma gas station hit by burglars for cash

By Aaron Humes: Early Monday morning, around 6:30 AM, police say a burglary occurred at the Puma Gas Station located on New Road in Belize City.

The manager of the gas station reported that he had secured the business on the previous day, January 11, at approximately 4:30 PM, ensuring that no one was left inside. When he returned to the site on January 12, he discovered the cash register open, with coins scattered on the floor. Further investigation revealed that the back office had been ransacked, with an undisclosed amount of cash missing.

Initial findings suggest that the perpetrators gained entry by prying open the metal roofing of the gas station. Despite canvassing the neighborhood and interviewing various individuals, police have not yet obtained any useful information regarding the suspects or the circumstances surrounding the burglary.

Their investigations continue.
