By Aaron Humes: The Cabinet gave its approval for the Belize Postal Service to charge an additional one-dollar fee to customers who ship packages to the United States of America.
This has become necessary because of an Executive Order signed by the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, in July of 2025, whereby all dutiable international postal items containing goods entering the United States are now taxed.
Before this Executive Order, Cabinet notes, goods entering the U.S. were duty-free up to US$800.
