By Zoila Palma:  Cristo Rey Village is celebrating the opening of a new state-of-the-art Primary and Preschool facility, aimed at expanding access to quality education in rural Belize.

The project, valued at BZ$1,129,407, includes 8 fully equipped classrooms, office and storage spaces, a preschool building, gender-specific restrooms for students and staff, secure fencing, and pedestrian walkways.

The newly completed school was made possible through a partnership between the Government of Belize (GOB), the Belize Social Investment Fund (BSIF), and the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB).

Officials say the investment underscores the nation’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure in underserved communities.

This addition provides a safer, more modern learning environment for children in Cristo Rey and surrounding areas, enhancing both primary and early childhood education.

Government representatives praised the collaboration and emphasized that projects like this are key to national development.
