New Book / Launch: “La Tragédie haïtienne”

Jackson Joseph will present his new book— La Tragédie haïtienne (C3 Éditions 2026), which Le Nouvelliste describes as a realistic novel— in July and August. On Saturday, July 18, at 10:00am, he will launch the book at Direction Nationale du Livre (DNL), located 320 Route de Bourdon, Port-au-Prince, Haiti. On Saturday, August 1, from 12:30 to 3:00pm, he will be signing his books at the Toussaint Louverture Cultural Center of Massachusetts, located at 131A Beverly Street, Boston, Massachusetts. This special event will feature a conversation on “Haiti: Challenges, Perspectives, and the Way Forward,” moderated by author Milady Auguste. Guests will have the opportunity to discover Jackson Joseph’s latest work and engage in an important discussion on Haiti’s realities, future, and collective path forward.

Jackson Joseph is a Haitian sociologist, educator, diplomat, and writer originally from the Northwest of Haiti, specifically Port-de-Paix. He holds a master’s degree in education science and has taught literature and philosophy in schools and universities in Port-au-Prince. He has also worked as a journalist for several newspapers, including Le MatinLe National, and L’Union, and served as an editor in the newsroom of Radio Vision 2000, where he also hosted two programs. He currently serves as Haiti’s Consul in the Dominican Republic while continuing his work as a writer. La Tragédie Haïtienne is his eighth published book.
