The volume is divided into three parts that aim to capture the heterogeneity and hybridity of Aponte Alsina’s writing. After an illuminating introduction by Sotomayor, the book continues with an interview, twelve critical essays, five reviews, and nine testimonial pieces. Each text reflects Aponte Alsina’s inexhaustible creativity, imagination, and passion for weaving connections, networks, and archives that affirm a country, a region, and a continent that refuses to yield to dispossession, oblivion, and the ignominy of colonization—both ancient and present. Each of the texts about the writer from Cayey [Puerto Rico] provides a glimpse into the immense map of our creative sovereignties and their infinite possibilities, drawing on Aponte Alsina’s legacy.
