By Zoila Palma: Today marks the final day of a highly productive three-day workshop hosted by NEMO and UNDP Belize, aimed at enhancing the capacity of the Damage and Needs Assessment (DANA) Committee and other key national partners.
Over the course of the workshop, participants engaged in vital discussions focused on strengthening Belize’s national Disaster Risk Management System.
They worked on refining the Post-Crisis Recovery Framework, reviewing the DANA National Plan, and fine-tuning the Standard Operating Procedures.
These efforts are crucial in bolstering the nation’s ability to assess damage, identify urgent needs, and effectively coordinate disaster response and recovery.
As the workshop draws to a close, the knowledge and strategies gained will be instrumental in building a more resilient and prepared Belize, ensuring that the country is better equipped to face future challenges.
