By Zoila Palma: On May 13, 2026, Deputy Mayor Eluide Miller and the Belize City Council were honored to welcome the National Primary School Female Basketball Champions, St. Joseph Primary School, for a special educational and congratulatory visit to City Hall.
The athletes participated in an engaging session on the role and responsibilities of the Council, toured the departments of City Hall, and enjoyed a memorable opportunity to meet Mayor Bernard Wagner.
The champions also learned about the many ways the Belize City Council continues to invest in youth, sports, and education through its various programs and initiatives aimed at empowering the next generation.
“Congratulations and special thank you to these incredible young ladies for bringing the championship title back home to Belize City!
Your hard work, teamwork, and determination are a true inspiration to young people across our city.
Belize City is proud of you,” a statement from the Belize City Council said.
