National Health Insurance representatives and medical community discuss roll out of NHI

By Zoila Palma: On January 28, 2025, representatives of the National Health Insurance (NHI) met with members of the medical community to discuss the continued roll-out of NHI coverage to the rest of Belize City. 

As part of this process, the NHI is reopening the tender bidding for one additional medical service provider to care for residents in this municipality.

Interested leaders of primary healthcare clinics in Belize City’s health sector must make a bid and be assessed as the best fit for citizens.

“The NHI expansion continues, bringing affordable, high-quality primary healthcare to Belizeans nationwide,” the Government of Belize noted.
