By Zoila Palma: On February 4, 2025, the National Health Insurance (NHI) Committee met with members of the medical community in Belmopan to discuss the rollout of NHI in that municipality.
The NHI team is preparing to accept bids from primary care providers, after which the most suitable clinics will be selected under NHI to serve Belmopan residents.
The Government of Belize noted that the national rollout of NHI is expected to be completed across the entire Cayo District by mid-2025, achieving 100% coverage for Belize’s population.
