National Celebrations Commission host Belize@43 Creative Youth Ideas Summit

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On September 5, 2024, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology hosted the Belize @43 Creative Youth Ideas Summit.

‘Culture & Innovation’ was the theme for the Belize@43 Creative Youth Ideas Summit held at the House of Culture in Belize City.

The National Celebrations Commission organised the event for the third time since 2021 as part of the annual national celebrations.

This forum underscored the importance of our distinct cultural heritage and inspired young people to engage in critical thinking to develop creative and progressive solutions.

In light of the emergence of AI and the ever-evolving technological landscape, this theme encouraged young people to explore how they can contribute to sustainable development, generate economic opportunities, and enhance cultural understanding through innovation and collaboration.

Chairman of the National Celebrations Commission, Francis Fonseca delivered the Keynote remarks, emphasising the significance of the Belize@43 Creative Youth Ideas Summit.

“We thank the 501academy, Institute for Social & Cultural Research ISCR NICH and Institute of Archaeology (NICH) Belize for their valuable presentation and support,” the Ministry expressed.
