By Zoila Palma: In a show of continued support for one of Belize’s most enduring cultural traditions, the Chairman of the National Celebrations Commission (NCC), Francis Fonseca presented a $15,000 cheque to the National Committee of the Queen of the Bay.
The contribution reaffirms the NCC’s commitment to preserving and promoting the Queen of the Bay Pageant, a treasured highlight of the September Celebrations.
Now in its 79th year, the pageant remains a powerful symbol of national pride and cultural heritage, honoring the grace, intelligence, and eloquence of young Belizean women across the country.
The donation will support the ongoing efforts of the committee as preparations continue for this year’s events.
