By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Mid-South champions Vikings FC meet Ambergris’ Sharks FC in a fiery National Amateur Interdistrict Championship (NAIC) quarterfinal on Saturday, July 19 at 7:30 pm at Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence.
Vikings survived a grueling battle against Legends FC, beating them 4-2 in the return leg to edge them 6–5 on aggregate, with an extra-time winner by Oscar Rodriguez. Legends had taken the first encounter 3–2, so when the return finished 3–2 in favour of Vikings, extra time was necessary.
Sharks booked their place after a solid 3–1 second-leg win over St Matthews FC in San Pedro, with Tory Guzman netting twice and Falden Carter sealing the win in stoppage time. The win qualified them on a 4-2 aggregate score.
Expect fast-paced action and passionate crowd energy in this coastal clash.
