By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The 2025-2026 Westline Premier Women’s League Closing Season begins this weekend with only four teams in the race — defending champions Napoles FC, former champions Sagitun GIRLZ, rising Corozal Elite FC, and a Jewel Fury FC side determined to reclaim their old dominance. With a shortened schedule and every club guaranteed a semifinal berth, seeding and momentum will define the road to the May 9 final.

Opening Weekend:

The FFB Stadium hosts both opening matches:

Saturday, February 7 – 3:30 pm

Napoles FC vs Corozal Elite FC

The champions open their title defence against a Corozal side hungry to prove they belong among the elite.

Sunday, February 8 – 4:00 pm

Jewel Fury FC vs Sagitun GIRLZ

A clash loaded with history. Jewel Fury begin their mission to rise again; Sagitun GIRLZ begin theirs to reclaim the crown they lost in December.

Only 4 Teams Compete

The Closing Season moves forward without the Cayo Dreamers and the Jaguars Girls (the U16 Belize Girls National Team). Their absence tightens the field and intensifies every matchup. With fewer games, every mistake becomes expensive and every win becomes a statement.

Week Two: Home Stadiums Come Alive

Saturday, February 14 – 6:00 pm

Sagitun GIRLZ vs Napoles FC

Michael Ashcroft Stadium, Independence

A rematch of the Opening Final — and an early chance for Sagitun GIRLZ to measure their response.

Saturday, February 14 – 3:00 pm

Corozal Elite FC vs Jewel Fury FC

People’s Stadium, Orange Walk

Corozal Elite, playing out of Orange Walk, open at home against a Jewel Fury side still searching for rhythm.

A Short Sprint to the Semifinals

The regular season features only six matches, ending Saturday, March 28. All four clubs advance to the semifinals, but placement will shape the path:

  • 1st place vs 4th place
  • 2nd place vs 3rd place

Semifinals

Saturday, April 25 – 4:00 pm

Saturday, May 4 – 4:00 pm

One Match for the Championship

Saturday, May 9 – 4:00 pm

FFB Stadium, Belmopan

Four teams. One trophy.

Napoles defending. Sagitun GIRLZ chasing redemption. Corozal Elite rising. Jewel Fury rebuilding.

The 2026 PWLB Closing Season may be compact, but the prize is the national championship and the right to represent Belize in international competition — and Belizean women’s football is ready for another fierce chapter.
