By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Napoles FC stunned Cayo Dreamers 9-0 in Week 4 of the Premier Women’s League of Belize (PWLB), completely overpowering their opponents at Santa Elena Sports Complex on Sunday, April 6, 2025.
Cayo Dreamers produced a better performance in their first-round meeting, narrowly falling 2-1 to Napoles FC, but this time, the match unfolded in a much harsher fashion. Jayda Brown opened the scoring in the 4th minute, setting the tone for what would become an offensive onslaught. Roshany Narvaez followed with goals in the 6th and 22nd minutes, while Carlene Tillett stole the show with an impressive four-goal haul (19th, 46th, 54th, and 90+3 minutes). Jerlin Salazar added another in the 42nd minute, sealing Napoles FC’s most prolific win of the season.
“Four goals scored today means that Carlene is our player of the match! Great game Carlene!” Napoles FC said after the match, congratulating their top scorer.
For Cayo Dreamers, the heavy loss leaves them winless after four matches, sitting at the bottom of the standings without any point, having conceded 27 goals and holding a -25 goal difference. Meanwhile, Napoles FC, now with 6 points, continue their quest to keep pace with the frontrunners.
Elsewhere in PWLB Week 4, Sagitun GIRLZ reinforced their dominance with a solid 3-0 win over reigning champions Jewel Fury on Saturday, April 5.
With the league heating up, Cayo Dreamers will need to regroup as they look for their first breakthrough of the season, while Napoles FC aims to carry this momentum forward into their upcoming fixtures.
