By Aaron Humes: Police report that they are seeking a person or persons) of interest in connection to a murder that occurred in Punta Gorda Town in the last 24 hours.
This morning, police responded to a report of a body found by the seawall on Front Street, Punta Gorda, at about 11:35 a.m.
The body was identified to be that of 44-year-old Jennison Vernon, with several cut wounds to his body. The body was taken to Punta Gorda Hospital where it was pronounced dead and now awaits a post-mortem.
This is the second body found in Punta Gorda Town in several days although the case of Victor Bol, discovered on Saturday, was not identified to involve foul play.
