By Aaron Humes: Police are currently investigating a multiple shooting that resulted in the death of Joseph Lee Garcia between Saturday night and Sunday morning. The incident has left two others injured.
The shooting occurred in front of Titanic Bar, located on the Philip Goldson Highway, directly across from the Immigration Department office, sometime on Saturday. Eyewitnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots, and law enforcement officials have since recovered several expended shell casings from the scene.
The situation escalated further when a vehicle, transporting the shooting victims to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, crashed while approaching the hospital. According to preliminary reports, the driver was racing to get medical assistance but lost control and collided with the right front doors of the hospital’s main entrance on Princess Margaret Drive. In addition to the victims, a security guard at the hospital was also injured.
The other two victims of the shooting have been identified as Ronlee Petillo and Cameron August. Authorities are actively working to gather more information and piece together the events leading to the shooting.
As the investigation unfolds, police are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.
