By Aaron Humes: Multiple separate shooting incidents occurred simultaneously in the City this evening, leaving five individuals injured, including a minor. The incidents took place on Police Street and across town at Majestic Alley. At this hour, another shooting has been reported on Faber’s Road.
According to initial reports, police responded to a call regarding gunfire on Police Street. A police officer was reportedly injured during the response. Several rounds from a high-caliber machine gun were recovered from the vicinity.
The first shooting on Police Street resulted in two individuals being shot, while the second incident in Majestic Alley saw three more victims. In the latter incident, one of the victims has been named as Dane Gillett, while another of the individuals injured was a minor.
It is reported that both incidents appeared to have been coordinated attacks linked to the PIV gang, escalating fears of gang violence in the area. Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shootings and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
