By Zoila Palma: The Government of Belize has announced the extension of the MSME Tax Amnesty Programme until December 31, 2025.
The initiative, coordinated by the Office of the Prime Minister in partnership with BELTRAIDE, the Belize Tax Service, the Belize Companies & Corporate Affairs Registry, and other agencies, offers Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) additional time to clear outstanding business tax penalties and interest, while also providing eligibility for up to one year of business tax exemption.
The extension was announced during a Special Sitting of the House of Representatives on October 17, 2025, and aims to ensure that all eligible MSMEs have the opportunity to receive their Tax Amnesty Certificates.
It also allows additional time to process applications from previous Roadshow stops, giving business owners more opportunities to formalize and grow their operations.
The Roadshow continues with upcoming stops in Belmopan (October 27 at the Civic Center), San Pedro (November 4, Lion’s Den), Caye Caulker (November 5, Community Center), and Punta Gorda (November 7, St. Peter Claver Parish Hall).
The government congratulated MSMEs that have already benefited from the programme and encouraged others to participate.
