By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing is advising motorists to exercise extreme caution today, Sunday, January 11, during the transportation of oversized bridge components across several major highways.
According to a public notice issued by the Ministry, extra-wide truss segments for the Santa Familia Bridge Construction Project will be transported from Haulover Bridge to Georgeville, Cayo. The movement is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. and will pass through the Philip Goldson Highway, Boom–Hattieville Road, and the George Price Highway.
The Ministry warned that the load measures approximately 22 feet at its widest point and will take up almost the entire width of the roadway. As a result, oncoming traffic will be required to pull off the road at certain points to allow the equipment to pass.
Motorists are being asked to reduce speed, remain alert for traffic escorts, and strictly follow the directions of traffic managers along the route.
