By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A traffic accident at the intersection of Lovers Lane and Bakers Street in Orange Walk on Friday, April 24th, 2026, at approximately 10:30 a.m., resulted in injuries to a motorcyclist.
Upon arrival at the scene, police observed a black Lifan motorcycle bearing license plate MC 6183 at the corner of Lovers Lane and Bakers Street. The motorcycle had visible damage to the right handle and a broken mirror. The rider was identified as Eldrid Chan, a 27-year-old Belizean laborer of Petville.
Also at the scene was a grey Mazda pickup driven by Carlos Calderon, a 41-year-old Belizean. The vehicle was positioned on the right-hand side of Bakers Street and showed no visible damage.
Investigations revealed that Calderon had been driving in a south-to-north direction along Bakers Street when Chan, who was approaching the intersection on the motorcycle, failed to stop at the stop sign and collided into the pickup.
As a result of the impact, Chan fell from the motorcycle and sustained abrasions to both hands and feet. He also complained of body pain and was transported by ambulance to the Northern Regional Hospital for medical attention. Medico-legal forms were issued.
Both drivers were not in possession of their vehicle documents at the time and were advised to visit the police station to complete the necessary reports. Their driver’s licenses were later retrieved.
