By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A Belizean mother is seeking the public’s assistance to help cover medical expenses for her young daughter, Anasophia, who continues to battle multiple health conditions that have required numerous surgeries abroad. On Saturday, Anavel Alvarado took to social media to share her daughter’s story and announce a community raffle to raise funds for another round of surgery scheduled for November in Colombia.
In her social media message, Alvarado expressed gratitude to everyone who has supported her journey so far. She wrote, “By the grace of God, everything went well with my little girl, but she still needs another surgery, so I will have to travel back to Colombia in November. For that reason, I would like to ask for your support and help with a raffle I’ll be holding. I would be truly grateful from the bottom of my heart for your collaboration.”
Tickets for the raffle cost $5, and prizes include a Magic Bullet, a box of Coca-Cola, a small bag of flour, a hammock, and a Tupperware cup. The raffle will be drawn by name, and Alvarado plans to announce the date soon.
Anasophia, affectionately known as “Sofi,” was born with craniofacial conditions, spina bifida, cleft lip, cleft palate, and cleft foot. Despite her many challenges, her mother describes her as a joyful and loving child who continues to inspire everyone around her with her courage and constant smile. Sofi has already undergone 12 surgeries, and her mother says she continues to fight bravely with faith and determination.
Alvarado shared that she leaves everything in God’s hands as they prepare for the upcoming medical trip. She thanked the public for their prayers, love, and continued support.
