By Horace Palacio: Belize is expected to experience cloudy spells and scattered showers today as relatively moist conditions persist over the region. According to the Belize Meteorological Service, a few showers will develop throughout the day in various parts of the country. However, as evening approaches, rainfall will gradually decrease, leading to isolated showers and drier conditions.
Marine conditions remain moderate, with easterly winds blowing at 5-15 knots. The sea state will be choppy, with wave heights ranging from 3 to 5 feet. Boaters and marine operators are advised to take necessary precautions when navigating offshore.
Temperatures will remain warm and comfortable. Coastal areas will see highs of 86°F (30°C) and nighttime lows of 76°F (24°C). Inland temperatures will be slightly warmer, reaching 88°F (31°C) before dropping to 72°F (22°C) overnight. In the hills, temperatures will range from 75°F (24°C) during the day to 66°F (19°C) at night.
Looking ahead, Sunday and Sunday night are expected to bring mostly fair conditions, with only isolated showers occurring across the country.
Today’s tidal schedule includes a high tide at 8:10 AM, a low tide at 12:04 PM, and another high tide at 6:50 PM. Tomorrow’s early low tide is forecast for 2:40 AM. Sunrise was at 6:22 AM, and sunset is set for 5:51 PM. The moon will rise at 2:21 PM today and set at 4:09 AM tomorrow.
Forecaster Francisca Wellington advises residents to be prepared for occasional showers during the day, while those engaging in outdoor activities in the evening can expect drier and more stable conditions.
