By Breaking Belize News Staff: The National Meteorological Service reports that moist and unstable conditions will persist across the country today, Friday, September 19, 2025. Skies will remain generally cloudy with showers, thunderstorms, or periods of rain occurring around the country. Rainfall activity is forecast to increase tonight, starting in southern and coastal areas.
Winds will blow from the east to southeast at 5 to 15 knots. The sea state is slight, with waves of 1 to 3 feet.
The forecasted high and low temperatures are as follows: 88°F/76°F on the coast, 92°F/73°F inland, and 78°F/67°F in the hills.
A small craft caution is in effect. Mariners should be alert for gusty winds and rough seas near heavy showers and thunderstorms. Additionally, an excessive rainfall watch remains in place, with 2 to 4 inches of rain possible over the next 48 hours, especially in central and southern areas. Flood-prone communities are advised to remain vigilant.
Tropical Storm Gabrielle, located about 595 miles east-northeast of the northern Leeward Islands at 3:00 a.m., continues moving west-northwest with maximum sustained winds of 50 mph. Gabrielle does not pose a threat to Belize at this time.
Weather conditions are expected to follow a similar trend into Saturday and Saturday night.
