By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belizeans can expect a mix of sunshine, cloudiness, and intermittent rain today as moist and unstable conditions continue to influence the country’s weather. The National Meteorological Service reports that a few showers and thunderstorms will develop throughout the day across the country before increasing along coastal and southern areas tonight.
Winds will come from the east to southeast at 10 to 20 knots, creating light chop to choppy seas with waves of up to five feet. The forecast calls for warm daytime temperatures reaching 93°F inland, 88°F along the coast, and 81°F in the hills, while nighttime lows will dip to 72°F inland, 77°F on the coast, and 68°F in the hills.
In the tropical weather outlook, a broad low-pressure system associated with a tropical wave, located several hundred miles south-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, continues to produce disorganized showers and thunderstorms. The system has a medium chance of development over the next two days but does not pose any threat to Belize.
Looking ahead, forecasters expect mostly cloudy skies with some showers, thunderstorms, and periods of rain on Monday, particularly over the northern and central parts of the country. The public is encouraged to exercise caution during heavy downpours and stay informed on updates from the weather service.
