By Zoila Palma: The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) has announced that its Chief Executive Officer, Mario Búcaro, is leading a high-level delegation to Thailand to strengthen coordination with local partners and reaffirm the organization’s commitment to transparency, respect, and unity amid preparations for the 74th Miss Universe competition.
The statement was issued following heightened tensions due to a clash between Thai executive Nawat Itsaragrisil and Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch.
Contestants walked out in solidarity of Miss Mexico and demanded respect.
In an official statement, the organization said it “reaffirms its commitment to working closely with the host community, the Miss Grand International Organization (MGI), and all local partners to ensure the continued success of the 74th Miss Universe competition.”
MUO emphasized that the mission to Thailand aims “to coordinate efforts, ensure a secure and professional environment for all delegates, and reaffirm MUO’s commitment to transparency, respect, and unity.”
The organization confirmed that “all scheduled events and activities will continue as planned, in full cooperation with the host country and MGI,” underscoring that the shared goal remains to deliver “an exceptional global celebration that reflects the values of diversity, empowerment, and inclusion that define the Miss Universe legacy.”
MUO concluded by reaffirming its dedication to promoting collaboration, respect, and opportunity for women worldwide, ensuring a “safe, inspiring, and memorable experience for every delegate.”
