The prestigious event will take place on November 16, 2024, at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City.
“It was an emotional moment for our Belizean Beauty Ambassador and UNICEF’s Champion for Children, as the reality of this incredible journey begins to settle in.
With determination and grace, Halima is ready to represent the Jewel on the Miss Universe stage. Let’s rally behind her as she takes on this global platform,” the official Miss Universe Belize page expressed.
Hoy was recently photographed by Full Memory, showcasing her style curated by Messo Dyna, with accessories from Eye Care Solutions.
The national costume was also revealed recently named Xwankil—which translates to “Power” in the Q’eqchi language—highlights Belize’s cultural roots.
The costume draws inspiration from the traditional Maya Deer Dance, symbolizing resilience and the enduring strength of community. Designed to honor Belize’s rich cultural and natural diversity, it reflects the stories that unite the nation and its people.
Adorned with mirrors, the costume serves as a powerful symbol, encouraging all to embrace their identity and recognize their connection to the earth.
As Belize is home to a wealth of cultural narratives and stunning landscapes, Hoy’s outfit celebrates the unity found in shared experiences, emphasizing the importance of preserving the lessons of the past for future generations.
