By Zoila Palma: Today, the Miss Universe Belize Foundation Ltd. issued a statement saying that it acknowledges and has been closely monitoring the ongoing situation in Thailand, host country of the 74th Miss Universe Pageant.
“We can confirm that Miss Universe Belize, Isabella Zabaneh, as a proud advocate for the empowerment of women and children, was among the many delegates – including the reigning Miss Universe, Victoria Kjær Theilvig – who walked out of the scheduled sashing ceremony,” the foundation said.
The Miss Universe Belize team says that it has been in constant communication with our queen to ensure her safety and well-being.
The Foundation noted that Isabella is safe, in good health, and in strong spirits. National Director, Destinee Arnold, reaffirmed the organization’s support, stating:
“As a team, we stand firmly behind Queen Isabella and we will continue to monitor the situation as the competition continues, heeding the advice and guidance of the Miss Universe Organization.”
The Miss Universe Belize Foundation noted that despite the interruption, Isabella remains focused and committed to representing Belize with dignity and strength. She continues to engage with fellow delegates and has already drawn positive attention from media and pageant bloggers across Thailand.
“The overwhelming support from Belizeans at home and abroad has brought her tremendous encouragement, and she remains filled with Belizean pride.
The Miss Universe Organization has issued a statement confirming that a high- level delegation led by its Chief Executive Officer Mario Bucaro is en route to Thailand to strengthen collaboration with the host country, MGI, and relevant authorities. They have further affirmed that all scheduled events and pageant activities will continue as planned,” the foundation added.
The Miss Universe Belize Foundation Ltd. stands united with Queen Isabella as she continues her mission to make history for Belize on the universe stage.
