By Zoila Palma: On January 5, 2026, the Ministry of Rural Transformation, Community Development and Local Government marked a significant milestone for Middlesex Village with the official handover of essential pipes and fittings.
Following the establishment of an independent water system to transition away from a shared network with the Hummingbird Community—which presented various challenges—these materials are vital for resolving low-pressure issues for the village’s 350 residents.
The Ministry noted that the materials will facilitate the necessary expansion of the water system into newly developed residential areas.
This project highlights the successful collaboration between the Ministry, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development & Housing (MIDH), Area Representative Hon. Rodwell Ferguson, the Middlesex Village Council, and the local residents.
“Together, we are ensuring a reliable and scalable water supply that supports the continued growth and prosperity of the Middlesex community,” the Ministry noted.
