By Zoila Palma: On January 28, 2026, the Rural Development Department within the Ministry of Rural Transformation convened for a strategic departmental meeting centred on enhancing the delivery of services across rural Belize.
Leadership and officers engaged in a direct dialogue to review ongoing projects, budget allocations, and essential service enhancements for our rural communities.
Discussions also included the strategic rollout of the recently unveiled National Rural Development Strategy (NRDS) 2026–2030.
“By clearly defining individual roles and responsibilities, the Department is now better positioned to effectively implement this national roadmap, reaffirming our commitment to fostering prosperity and resilient infrastructure throughout our rural communities,” the Ministry noted.
