By Zoila Palma: A memo from the Ministry of Public Service dated April 20, 2026 informed that the Ministry has paused all transfers for public officers for this year.
“This Ministry hereby informs that, for the year 2026, tours of duty for officers within the Belize Public Service shall be extended by an additional period of one (1) year at their current duty stations, with immediate effect. Accordingly, no transfers of officers that will constitute a change in jurisdiction will be considered this year,” the Ministry informed.
The Ministry urged Chief Executive Officers of respective Ministries to submit requests for the extension of the one (1) year tour of duty, where necessary.
