By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On September 6, 2024, the Ministry of Public Service, Constitutional & Political Reform, and Religious Affairs honored 23 public officers who have given 35 years of service to the people and Government of Belize.
They have now been inducted into the Belize Public Service Walk of Recognition and Inspiration for their commitment to a long and successful career as civil servants.
Also, the Ministry named a “Keeper of the Flame” awardee for the first time.
This award is a unique designation for a public officer who has given more than 20 years of exemplary service and, even though retired, continues to give generously of their time to the Belizean public, even voluntarily.
Former Chief Magistrate Sharon Frazer has been named the “Keeper of the Flame”.
She retired from public service after 34 and a half years of dedication and still serves with distinction.
