Ministry of Local Government appoints Sharlene Rudon as acting City Administrator

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Belize City Council is mourning the loss of City Administrator Stephanie Lindo Garbutt.

“Mrs. Lindo-Garbutt’s dedicated service and commitment to the betterment of Belize City have left an indelible mark on our community. Her leadership, professionalism, and passion for public service will be deeply missed,” the Belize City Council said.

In recognition of the critical importance of ensuring the continued operation of municipal affairs, the Ministry of Local Government has appointed Sharlene Rudon, the Belize City Council’s Director of Administration, to act as City Administrator.

The Belize City Council noted that this designation will take effect immediately and will remain in effect until the recently elected council appoints a new City Administrator subsequent to their taking the oath of office in the coming days.

The Belize City Council noted that Rudon brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role, having served diligently within the Belize City Council for over thirty years.

“We will continue to work tirelessly to uphold the values and principles that Mrs. Lindo-Garbutt so passionately advocated for throughout her tenure.

The Belize City Council extends its sincere appreciation to the community for its ongoing support and understanding during this period of mourning and transition. Together, we will honor Mrs. Lindo-Garbutt’s legacy by continuing to strive for excellence for Belize City and its residents,” a statement from the Belize City Council said.
