By Zoila Palma: In observance of World Day Against Child Labour 2025, the Child Labour Secretariat of the Labour Department partnered with several schools in the Corozal District to raise awareness and promote action toward ending child labour.
Last Thursday and Friday, several schools including Cristo Rey RC School, Patchakan RC School, San Pedro Government School, and La Immaculada Primary School actively participated in this important initiative.
The Labour Department noted that through educational sessions, interactive activities, arts and craft, and community engagement, children, parents, and teachers were informed about the dangers of child labour and the importance of education and protection for all children.
The Labour Department thanked the Northern Sugar Cane Growers Association for joining the effort in commemorating this vital cause.
“Together, we are acting on our commitments to end child labour and secure a brighter future for every child,” the department noted.
