By Zoila Palma: Today, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development & Housing (MIDH) conducted a site visit with representatives from the International Cooperation and Development Fund (Taiwan ICDF) and the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) to review the ongoing expansion and rehabilitation of the Philip Goldson Highway from Mile 8.5 to Mile 24.5.
The project, a 16-mile upgrade over a three-year timeframe, includes international-standard improvements such as new roundabouts, climate-resilient drainage, and dedicated pedestrian paths to ensure a safer and more efficient commute for all Belizeans.
The project will enhance safety through improved alignments, upgrade drainage to prevent flooding, and introduce advanced road safety features.
