The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing reminds the general public of ongoing works for the upgrading of a portion of the George Price Highway from San Ignacio Town to San Jose Succotz Village.
Please be advised: From Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. until Friday, October 3, 2025, at 5:00 a.m., the work zone at the entrance of Benque Viejo Town will be significantly constrained and impassable to freight vehicles larger than a passenger bus. No heavy equipment, container trucks, cement trucks, tow trucks with trailers, or tandem trailers will be able to pass during this period. This is to facilitate the construction of reinforced concrete pavement and structural finish of this section of the highway.
The public is advised to be vigilant and exercise extreme caution at all times when using this portion of the road. Drivers are urged to adhere to caution signs, reduce speed when approaching the area, and follow the instructions of flag personnel to ensure safety.
