Press Release
The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing advises the public of the commencement of works for the periodic maintenance of the Sebastian and Bermudian Landing Bridges in the Belize River Valley.
The works to be undertaken include the complete cleaning and refurbishment of both bridges. This may entail sandblasting of the structures, replacement of deteriorated members, and repainting. The project is expected to be executed over the course of this year (12 months).
The Ministry further advises that one lane at both the Sebastian and Bermudian Landing Bridges will be temporarily closed to facilitate the removal of steel truss structures on the left-hand lane when traveling toward Bermudian Landing Village. At both locations, road users will only have access to one lane for approximately six months. Thereafter, traffic will be shifted to the other side to complete works on the right-hand lane. Traffic signs, caution lights, and reflectorized barriers will be installed to guide road users to the open lane.
Please be courteous to other users and yield to right-of-way traffic. Please drive with an excess of caution. Do not speed.
