Press Release
Residents of Punta Gorda Town and surrounding villages are hereby informed that the boat ramp adjacent to the Michael Espat Bridge will undergo periodic closures from June 3 to June 10, 2025, to facilitate urgent construction works.
The purpose of this closure is to reconstruct the boat ramp to align with the new road level resulting from the construction of the Michael Espat Bridge. This is required in order to ensure improved ease of access for boat owners and all users of the ramp. This work is a critical part of the broader infrastructure upgrades connected to the bridge project.
During this period, the boat ramp will remain partially accessible, but users are strongly advised to exercise caution when entering or exiting the area. Active construction will be ongoing, and all users are asked to follow safety signage and cooperate with the construction team to ensure safety and efficiency.
In the meantime, owners of smaller vessels are encouraged to use the Cattle Landing boat ramp as an alternative.
We thank the public for their patience and understanding as we carry out these necessary improvements for the benefit of all.
