By Zoila Palma: The Labour Department, an integral part of the Ministry of Immigration, Governance and Labour, conducted a Child Labour Education and Code of Conduct training session with Standard 5 and 6 students of St. Francis Xavier R.C. School.
The session provided students with a clear understanding of what child labour is, why it occurs, and how it affects children’s rights, education, and future opportunities.
Students also learned the importance of respectful behaviour, personal responsibility, and contributing to a safe and supportive school environment, values that extend beyond the classroom and into everyday life.
The Labour Department says that it continues to promote awareness and positive values among young people, supporting the protection of children and their development toward a brighter future.
