By Zoila Palma: The Ministry of Home Affairs and New Growth Industries has introduced a new online platform that allows Belizeans to apply for their criminal records without having to stand in long lines at police stations.
The service, operated through the Criminal Records Registry (CRR) of the Belize Police Department, is accessible at www.crr.gov.bz
Through the portal, applicants can complete an electronic form to validate their judicial history and choose whether to receive a secure digital copy of their record by email or collect a printed version at a designated police station.
A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page is also available to guide users through the process.
The Ministry noted that the initiative is part of the government’s broader digital modernization push aimed at improving access to public services, cutting processing times, and offering greater convenience—particularly for those in rural areas.
The ministry noted that the online system will streamline the application process while supporting Belize’s wider digital government transformation.
