By Zoila Palma: Today, the Ministry of Health and Wellness through the Regional Malaria Elimination Initiative (RMEI) project, is installing digital display kiosks at all points of entry.
The Ministry says that providing health information at points of entry under the International Health Regulations ensures that travellers receive timely and accurate guidance on health risks and preventive measures, supporting early detection, disease prevention, and the reduction of international public health threats while facilitating safe travel and trade.
The RMEI is a multi-donor, co-financed regional partnership that combines investments from participating countries with financial and technical support from organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Gates Foundation, The Global Fund, and the Carlos Slim Foundation to accelerate malaria elimination and prevent its re-establishment.
