By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Ministry of Health and Wellness is increasing its efforts in the prevention of Dengue.
The Ministry says that as we enter what is traditionally the peak transmission period for dengue, the Ministry of Health & Wellness, Vector Control Program is currently increasing prevention efforts across the country, including the inspection and fogging of schools as the new school year commences.
Residents are encouraged to do weekly inspections around their yards to discard containers which may serve as breeding sites for mosquitoes.
Containers such as drums and vats should also be properly screened/covered.
Use mosquito repellent and wear long sleeves and pants to minimize exposure.
Keep your homes well secure by screening windows.
Stay safe and do your part, we can all help prevent the spread of dengue.
