By Zoila Palma: The Ministry of Health and Wellness, with direct support from UNICEF Belize, has hosted a National Validation Workshop for the National Community Health Strategy (NCHS) 2025–2030.
The workshop follows the first-ever National Stakeholder Forum held in August 2025 and marks another key step in finalizing the country’s long-term roadmap for strengthening community health systems.
The NCHS 2025–2030 is designed to guide and enhance the work of Community Health Workers (CHWs) across Belize, outlining effective interventions and approaches to address persistent health challenges and barriers within communities.
It emphasizes collaboration, capacity building, and sustainable strategies to ensure equitable access to healthcare at the grassroots level.
The Ministry expressed appreciation to the facilitator group Right Insights, technical units within the Ministry, community leaders, non-governmental organizations, and all extended partners for their contributions.
